Privacy Policy

What Information Do We Collect? The G-E-G.ORG website contains only the personal information about members that they provided to GEG on their membership application form. This is in the "Members Only" area of the site and is password protected. It is for the use and convenience of GEG members. G-E-G.ORG takes all possible precautions to protect this information from non-members who visit the site. Users can edit or update any of this personal information by going to the Membership List page and editing their own personal data. If you would like to have your personal information deleted from the website, send email to .

G-E-G.ORG also asks all members for their email address. This information is used as part of the system that identifies bona fide members accessing the site. In fact, if you change your email address without notifying G-E-G.ORG you will be able to access the members only area with your old email address only, until you change it in our database.

Initially, members are placed on two email mailing lists. The first one is to receive the monthly newsletter. The second is the "members' mailing list" that allows any member to send email to all other members on the list. Members may request to have their names removed from either or both of these lists.

With Whom Do We Share This Information? Information from and about members will not be shared with anyone. All information collected is for internal GEG use only. G-E-G.ORG will not disclose any personally identifiable information except when required to do so by law, or we in good faith believe that such action is necessary to comply with the law or with legal process or to protect the personal safety or property of users or the public

In announcing meetings, G-E-G.ORG will not post members' addresses, directions to their homes, or maps without the prior consent of the member.

What Are Cookies And How Do We Use Them? G-E-G.ORG employs cookies to recognize members and their access privileges. It places a "cookie" on the browser of a user's computer to store the member's email address and password when the member checks the boxes asking G-E-G.ORG to remember this information. This speeds a user's access, negating the need to provide that information each time one accesses the site. Users may choose to ask us not to store a cookie on their machine by going to the Membership List page and making sure the "Remember Me" and "Store Password" boxes are not checked. (Also, if a user's browser is set to not accept cookies the function to store a user's email address and password will not work.) The use of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on the site.

Notification of Changes: This policy may be revised over time as new features are added to the website. We will post those changes prominently so that you will always know what information we gather, how we might use that information, and whether we will disclose it to anyone. Please check this site for information about revisions to our privacy policy.
